Droid on Droid

Some more of my way the hell up and gone work. These (an)droids ought to fetch a few bob. Giddy up.

As always, the sketch was a tad tawdrier than the final product.

Horror On Horror

In the interest of not going homeless, I've once again begun trawling for gigs where anyone with any tangible self-respect shouldn't dare. At least the creative juices find some motility. This composite is something I threw together for an indie film movie poster. It's still in the pipeline. Them pipes again.

Hellenic Art

A little vignette for the emoticon haterz! Vector and raster go together to make VexterTM. There's no going back now.

Wining around 2

Now working on some wine packaging for the new brand. I have to say, just getting the UVs to display correctly on the cans in 3ds max was an unforeseen chore of the highest magnitude. Whereas a UV unwrap for a simple cylinder would have taken 3-5 minutes, a simple modification of the geometry had me pulling my hair out as I pushed and pulled single vertices for hours on end. Get a grip Autodesk! IT'S 2011 FFS!

Wining around

I'm currently working with a client on some assets that are mainly based around a newly established vineyard and their output. Simply sending them some label designs that flatly display on the screen is quite boring and doesn't do much to convey the designer's vision. So I tend to use 3d renders to woo them a little. Helps in the long run.

I lost a day

Just thought I'd post this as a testament that my dry spell does appreciably moisten on occasion. It's a terrible thing. The sketch never showed promise, and I was a breath away from scrapping it when something just gripped me. And off I went. It's still very rough around the edges, but a little post work made it passable.

Move the island

I remember scribbling this during an episode of that long winded bane of our existence, Lost. Nothing special, but it puts a smile on my face every time I flick through my work. If this spoils the show for you, it's well deserved. In fact...

THEY'RE ACTUALLY LIVING IN LIMBO! (you'll thank me later)

Naughty comeback

Just got to sketching in pencil. Next thing I know, BAM! I'm seeing blue. It could have gone either way to be honest. Nice to be able get something out, even if it does espouse a bit of self-indulgence and pointless misogyny.

Walking

I took a hike. Got a few shots. Armed bloke in front of some embassy told me to push off. I took off. (is this what they call a haiku?).

The handroller needed a dust off.

The HOLE PUNCHED FUCK SHEET

Inspired by Melissa McEwan's article on Grauniad's Comment is Free section. Maybe inspired isn't the right word. Bah! Either way, thanks to Dr. Kinsey for ridding us of this awful boudoir practice.

Beaten but not out

Meet ELM. He was gonna be in Pixar's ELM-E. Sadly, the producers decided to go with something that had robotic limbs and wiggly eye flaps (fuck you john lasseter, I know where you live). This desk sharpener is probably the most worn and beaten thing in the house if you discount my pulmonary system and that steak knife noone seems to throw away. Nice how MY trusty Canon 550d captured it, with it's layer on layer of texture, rust and general batteries-not-includedness (80s film about old people and electric razors coming alive). I threw it a milkbone, but it just bounced off and fell on the floor. I tsought it VUD VOLK! FEGERLEIN!
